Adrian Ciglenean, a self-proclaimed „action poet”, is an actor and artistic coach with a Moving Academy for Performing Arts Diploma. Formerly associated with Cătălin Naum as a „bridge builder”, he transitioned into a poetic performer under Mawson Raffalt + Faulder Mawson. As the founder and innovator of the immersive theater movement in Romania, he has spent over 15 years developing contexts and applications for this art form across various interdisciplinary settings, including educational institutions, museums, theaters, art galleries, concert venues, and book launches. Since 2011, he has led the interdisciplinary artistic laboratory Citit În (Read In), which primarily researches sensory poetics for immersive performance concepts. Through this work, he has delivered presentations, workshops, and performances at institutions such as Literaturhaus Berlin, CCRMA at Stanford University, the International Museum Theatre Alliance, University of Manchester, and the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant, among others.
His most recent immersive theater production is TFBșiVFM Victoriei/Pipera, an urban fairy tale featuring Maia Morgenstern, Vlad Rădescu, Autonom SA, the Museum of the Romanian Peasant (MȚR), FEPER, and „Apropo” Theatre (Teatrul Apropo). In addition to his practical work, he has authored the immersive labyrinth theater guide Back to Our Senses - A Handbook for Trainers and co-authored It’s All About Games - A Handbook for Trainees (2012, Biveda).
