
Born in Ploiești, Prahova County, in 1981, Lelia Marcu-Vladu began her formal dance education in 1991 at the Floria Capsali Choreography High School in Bucharest, where she later graduated in 1999 under the tutelage of Professor Anca Mândrescu.
In 2004, she broadened her horizons by participating in a Cultural Management Internship at the Felix Meritis University in Amsterdam. From her high school years onward, she actively engaged in numerous choreographic projects within various dance and theatre companies, contributing her artistry to national and international festivals, alongside her involvement in independent productions.
Since 2007, she has collaborated significantly with the esteemed choreographer and director Gigi Căciuleanu within his Gigi Căciuleanu Romanian Dance Company. In her role as assistant choreographer, she has been instrumental in the creation of a diverse repertoire of performances, including Oui Ba Da (2007) at the Comedy Theatre, D’ale noastre (2012) at the National Theatre Bucharest, Folia, Shakespeare & Co (2014) at the Metropolis Theatre, FabriKa (2015) and Un minut de dans sau Uf (2015) both at the Small Theatre, and L’Om DadA (2016) at the National Theatre Bucharest.
Her contributions continued with Emoji Play (2016) at the Excelsior Theatre, TragiComedy (2017) at the Romanian National Opera Bucharest, Aller-Retour (2018) at the Sibiu Philharmonic, On the roof (2019) at the National Theatre Bucharest, Jungla TeVe (2021) at the Romanian Playwrights' Theatre, A fi ȘI a nu fi CARAGIALE, un MEREU ALTUL (2021), KIRITZA sau Jocul De-a (2021) at the National Theatre Bucharest, the Young Actor HOP Gala (in 2019, 2020, and 2021), ALTITZA (2022) at the Romanian National Opera Bucharest, Nocturn (2023) at the National Theatre Bucharest, Din Dor’N Dor (2024) at the Sibiu Ballet Theatre, Heart2hearT (2024) as part of the Battery Dance Festival New York, and the 3 Video VR 360 project, ONIRIUS (2025), which premiered at the George Enescu International Festival. Furthermore, a selection of these performances has also been showcased at the esteemed Enescu Festival.
