Omar El Jamali has gained international recognition as a finalist and award winner at competitions such as the Antal Dorati (2021), BMI Bucharest Symphony Orchestra Competition (2021), and Erich Bergel Competition (2022). In April 2024, he was a quarter-finalist at the prestigious Malko Competition.

Following this achievement, he was invited to serve as Assistant Conductor to Cristian Macelaru at the Orchestre National de France for major programs in 2024 and 2025, including collaborations with world-class artists such as Beatrice Rana, Alexandre Kantorow, and Janoska Ensemble.He studied Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music under Grammy nominee Claudio Ragazzi and Eric Reasoner.

He furthered his conducting studies with Cristian Măcelaru, Kenneth Kiesler, and Francisco Noya in prestigious institutions such as L’École Normale de Musique de Paris and La Schola Cantorum de Paris.He has led orchestras in competitions, masterclasses, and concerts, including l’Orchestre National de France, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Budapest MAV Szimfonikus, Romanian Chamber Orchestra, Filarmonica de Stat Târgu Mureș, National Radio & Television Albania Orchestra, and Hungarian National Orchestra Szeged, among others.

Omar is the General Director and Co-Founder of L’Académie de Direction de Neuilly et Grand Paris, a conducting school in Paris which collaborates regularly with l’Orchestre Pasdeloup, Orchestre Colonne, and Orchestre Lamoureux.In Summer 2024, he is a conducting fellow at the Cabrillo Festival in Santa Cruz and the George Enescu Festival.

Following general success at the Enescu Festival 2024, Omar El Jamali is invited back to the Enescu Festival 2025 for his début as a headliner, where he will lead concerts, assist, and cover for the performances of major orchestras.
