The concert given by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Zubin Mehta and with pianist Khatia Buniatishvili as a soloist, taking place on 16 September at the Palace Hall, will begin at 20:30 instead of 19:30, as initially scheduled, for reasons not imputable to the organisers.

This change is due to a Jewish religious observance that prohibits artists from performing until after sunset.

Israel Philharmonic Orchestra will present works by Schumann and Strauss. For the first time on the stage of the Enescu Festival 2017, the prestigious orchestra will be joined by the Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili, under the baton of Zubin Mehta. The conductor Zubin Mehta is also the Honorary President of the 2017 edition of the Enescu Festival,  together with Vladimir Jurowski – Artistic Director.
